UNITED STATES OLD CATHOLIC CHURCH

UNITED STATES OLD CATHOLIC CHURCHUNITED STATES OLD CATHOLIC CHURCHUNITED STATES OLD CATHOLIC CHURCH

Together we can.

Together we can.Together we can.

Our Presiding archbishop

Archbishop James Long, D. Min, OsB, OCR

I was born and raised in Louisville, KY, within the Roman Catholic tradition. From a young age, I felt a deep calling to serve the church and knew that I wanted to become a priest. Even as a child of just five years old, the path before me was clear.

As I grew older, my thirst for knowledge and understanding led me to delve into the realms of demonology. At the age of 9, I began earnestly studying books on this topic, embarking on a lifelong journey to explore the depths of theology and demonology.

After completing high school, I felt compelled to spend a few years working before fully dedicating my life to the church. Eventually, I accepted God's calling and enrolled in the Roman Seminary. It was at Loyola University in Chicago where I obtained my undergraduate degree while continuing my seminary studies at the graduate level.

During this time, I received my Minor Orders from the Roman Catholic Church. However, it was also during this transformative period that I felt a clear message from God, a beckoning to serve within the Old Catholic Church. Through spiritual discernment and profound prayer, I humbly accepted this divine call.

Within the United States Old Catholic Church, I have been ordained as a Deacon, Priest, and consecrated to the Episcopacy. With great joy and conviction, I stand before you today, armed with a 110-page document attesting to my Apostolic Succession.

As the Presiding Archbishop, my mission extends far beyond the confines of a single local congregation. I am deeply committed to teaching Bible Study to the public, praying communal Night Prayer Online and sharing the wisdom and enlightenment that the Scriptures bring.

As mentioned above, I host Night Prayer Monday - Friday. Additionally, I take great pride in training and nurturing future clergy for the Old Catholic Church, ensuring the continuation of our rich tradition.

I invite you to join me on this extraordinary journey of faith, knowledge, and service. Together, let us chart a path towards spiritual enlightenment, embracing the wisdom of the past while fearlessly exploring the depths of theology and demonology.

I am here to guide, inspire, and empower you to grow in your own faith, offering my knowledge, experiences, and unwavering dedication. Let us walk this sacred path together, united in our commitment to serving God and discovering the profound truths that lie within the realm of the Old Catholic Church.

May we find solace, strength, and inspiration in these sacred teachings, transforming our lives and making a lasting impact on the world around us.

I am a proud member/founder of the Old Catholic Benedictines of Immaculate Mary and a member of the Order of Corporate Reunion.

Our chancellor

bishop elizabeth Frashure, D. Min, OsB, OCR

Bishop Elizabeth Frashure’s journey of faith is one marked by perseverance, devotion, and an unwavering call to serve God’s people. Raised in the Roman Catholic tradition, Elizabeth grew up with a deeply rooted love for the Church, its liturgy, and the sacred rhythms of worship. From a young age, she felt a strong call to serve at the altar and in pastoral ministry, sensing in her heart that God was preparing her for the priesthood.

However, as a woman within the Roman Catholic Church, priestly ministry was not an option available to her. Despite this limitation, Elizabeth continued to live out her vocation as fully as she could, dedicating her life to service within the Church. She served faithfully for years as a Liturgical Director, helping to craft worship experiences that reflected reverence, beauty, and deep spiritual meaning. Her ministry during that time reflected her natural leadership, her love for sacred tradition, and her gift for guiding others toward a deeper encounter with God.

In time, Elizabeth encountered Bishop James Long and discovered the United States Old Catholic Church. Through this meeting, she found the spiritual home she had longed for—a church that honors apostolic tradition while affirming the equal calling of women and men to ordained ministry. Within this community, her lifelong sense of vocation was finally recognized and affirmed.

After a period of discernment and theological formation, Elizabeth was ordained a Deacon, then later ordained as a Priest, and eventually consecrated to the Episcopate. Her sacramental lines are valid within the historic apostolic succession, and she serves as a Bishop in good standing within the Church. She is also a member of the Order of Corporate Reunion, reflecting her continuing commitment to unity among validly consecrated Catholic jurisdictions.

In addition to her episcopal ministry, Bishop Elizabeth lives out her vows as a Benedictine Sister, following the Rule of St. Benedict and embracing a life centered on prayer, service, and stability. Her spirituality blends the contemplative depth of monastic prayer with the pastoral heart of a servant-leader.

In her ongoing leadership within the United States Old Catholic Church, Bishop Elizabeth currently serves as Chancellor of the Church and Supervisor of the Vocations Office, where she guides future clergy in their own journeys of discernment and formation. Her leadership is marked by compassion, integrity, and a steadfast commitment to inclusivity, liturgical reverence, and Christ-centered service.

Bishop Elizabeth Frashure continues to embody what she has always believed— that divine vocation transcends barriers, and that the call to serve God’s people is written deeply into the human soul by the Creator Himself. Her life and ministry stand as a testament to God’s unrelenting grace and as an inspiration to all who dare to follow where God leads, even when the path has not yet been made.

I am a proud member/founder of the Old Catholic Benedictines of Immaculate Mary and a member of the Order of Corporate Reunion.
